Travel Help
Yippie!!!!!Summer is finally here and in full swing too..... I've been trying hard to avoid complaining about the scorching heat in Portland in the last few days:-) ....Nazar na lag Jaye!!!
I just thought we could all benefit from each others travel/trip plans. Also we can post whatever queries we may have ...as we are planning a trip....and seek suggestions from someone who has already "been there and done that"...to whatever extent possible/ safe to discuss on the blog.
I recently did a week long trip to the East coast ( Niagara, New York and Boston)....so I have lots free advice to give if anyone of you is planning to head there !!:-)
I am planning a trip to Crater Lake ...and was wondering where to stay as I heard there is only one lodge at the Crater Lake national park which requires months' in advance reservation ( which we've obviously not done) ...so are there any other places near by where you guys have been and found decent enough for a night's stay?
Let me know guys..."experience" is always valued!!!:-)
Feel free to post any queries you have.....we could all benefit from each other.

When went to Crater Lake, we stayed overnite at some place midway our journey and drove back the 5 hours directly home. The hike to the lake down and the boat-ride is a must!We found the crater lake , one of the most beautiful expperiences here in the North-West. I would presume visit persay to be a day's affair of hiking/ photos/boat-ride.But of coz' Sahil was not born at that time and we made the trip with our friends ( a couple) & helped each other by sharing the drive on the wheel.Posting a travel-planner is just the appropriate thing to do for summer. After all planning & sharing makes all the difference.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to enquire about more details!:))

ReplyDeleteWe went to Crater lake when Rishi was 1 yr old. We went to a safari on the way and stayed in Roseburg. Next day went around Crater lake and reached home. Safari, Sand dunes are some of the interesting things on the way. Boat trip was cancelled that day so we couldnt do it. We just hiked down till the lake. If you plan to go for lake trip, or even hiking down do carry some Mosquito repellent, too many mosquitos and bugs.
ReplyDeleteI heard there is a Petting zoo as well (Lion cub, bear cubs and few more are there to pet), but that time we didnt know about it, last Rose fest carnival we heard about it. Its somewhere near banton, OR.
Do let me know if you want the exact details. Will find out the trip plan from hus and let you know. :-)
Last week went to Salt lake city, Utah and Yellowstone. you can find the hotel, motel info from the visitor centers. They are too good. We took Tethon national park route to Yellowstone, I can give info about the cabin we stayed near Gardiner, and about the places where you can spot wild animals. But as I said visitor centers are too good, you can collect the info from them too.
